This lecture will deal with the realities and constraints that Israel faces in its war on terrorism and survey some of the lessons that Israel has learned from the conflict with the Palestinians that began in September 2000. It will also outline some of the prerequisites, from the Israeli perspective, necessary for the eventual return to the negotiating process and the achievement of a meaningful agreement with the Palestinians.
